New Rivals For Trinity Catholic High In Archdiocesan Athletic Association

Three high schools will be joining the Archdiocesan Athletic Association for the 2012-13 school year as the league will have 11 high schools, 10 of them including Trinity Catholic, will be playing football while the other is an all-girls’ high school (Rosati-Kain).
Those schools are Duchesne, Christian-O’Fallon and St. Francis Borgia.
Duchesne High School, located in St. Charles, has been a long-time member of the Gateway Athletic Conference and was the only private school in that predominately public school league that covers three counties in Missouri. Prior to the fall of 2008 Duchesne has won nine Missouri State High School Activities Association championships in seven sports including two each in Boys Golf and Boys Soccer. In June 2009 Duchesne won the Class Two State Girls Soccer title.
Rev. Jim Gahan, who coached Rosary (predecessor to Trinity) to the 1979 MSHSAA Boys Soccer title, is an assistant coach at Duchesne and is a part-time Associate Pastor at Sts. Joachim & Ann Catholic Church, St. Charles.
Christian High School, located across Tom Ginnever Avenue from Fort Zumwalt North High School, has been in O’Fallon since March 2000. Until several years ago (exact year not known) Christian-O’Fallon was a MSHSAA Registered Affiliate School and competed in the Twin Rivers Christian Activities Association, against the likes of North County Christian and Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis. Since being a full-time MSHSAA Member Christian-O’Fallon was competing as an independent now they are the second non-Catholic high school in the AAA (along with Lutheran-St. Charles County in St. Peters)
Christian-O’Fallon is looking for their first MSHSAA title.
St. Francis Borgia, located in the Franklin County town of Washington, has been a long-time independent and prior to the fall of 2008 has won 17 MSHSAA titles in five sports including nine in Girls Volleyball and four in Boys Basketball. In March, 2009 Borgia won the Class Four Boys Basketball title, the fifth in that sport.
NOTEBOOK: PATTONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM REOPENS THIS FALL Pattonville High School, a rival of the Hazelwood School District high schools as well as McCluer North and McCluer, has completely rebuilt their football and track stadium and will play their first home football game since October, 2010, when the Pirates host Lafayette. Pattonville has expanded the grandstands for the home fans as well as moving the visiting fans grandstands to field level. The artificial field turf on the football playing is the first in the Suburban North Conference.
