Hawthorne Players Celebrates 75th
Season with a Lobby Display & ‘Picnic’
Costumes and props won’t only be on the stage at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre in the James J. Eagan Center, they’ll be in the lobby for audiences to see up close. As part of Hawthorne Players’ 75th season, a display of memorable costumes, props, and facts from beloved shows will be on display—and changed—throughout the year.
A commemorative quilt by Jean Heckmann honoring past Hawthorne shows is featured and offered as a raffle prize at each Hawthorne production. The winner will be selected at the end of the Tony award-winning season, including the musical A Chorus Line and the play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
A dozen talented cast membercast completed Hawthorne’s seaon opening show Picnic the past two weekends at the James Eagan Center. Hunter Frederick as Hal Carter (the William Holden role in the movie) and Ellen Klasing as Madge and Jennefer Carole as Millie were all exceptional.
Director Trish Nelke brought life to the small Kansas town and did it all without actually having a picnic on stage.
