Kurtis Barks Named GNCC Business Person of the Year
Greater North County Chamber of Commerce named their 2017 Business Person of the year and it is Kurtis Barks. He is the owner operator of Complete Auto Body and Repair and A2b Towing and Recovery and has along with additional business interests in the St. Louis area.
The GNCC will honor Barks at a luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the Atrium at Christian Hospital. Tickets are $40 per person and reservations are required. Call the GNCC office at 314-831-3500 for reservations.
Barks and his father started Complete Auto Body and Repair in 1999 and in 2012 branched out, opening 5 locations in the metro area. During the same time, Barks operated A2B Towing and Recovery, LLC, in Hazelwood. He became a partner in an insurance agency, which now has several locations. Barks earned his license as an insurance agent and opened a Farmers insurance agency in North County. Bark is a member of North County Inc. and many local Chambers of Commerce in the North County area.
In addition to his business interests, Barks and his family are active in the North County community. They have donated approximately $250,000 to local charities, especially Backstoppers of St. Louis and Responder Rescue with a donation of $200,000.
Barks and family contribute annually to events, such as the Responder Rescue King’s Ball Every February, Annual Trunk or Treat Celebrations, Night at the Ball Park, and First Responders Night Out with the Rascals, hope to instill positive values and encourage respect for First Responders in the youngsters. The Barks family also sponsors youth sports teams, the Thanks Giving Day Parade, the Veterans Parade.
