Riverview Gardens Hosts Class Two, District Six Boys Tennis May 7-12

High School boys Tennis District Tournaments are scheduled to take place May 7-12 and Riverview Gardens is one of 32 district hosts

Riverview will host Class Two, District Six with Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer and Normandy competing. Meanwhile Hazelwood West will be in Class Two, District Five, hosted by Parkway Central, with Parkway North, Pattonville and Ritenour in that field. In Class One Lutheran North is in Class Six, hosted by Duchesne, with Lutheran-St. Charles County, St. Charles West, St. Charles and St. Dominic.

There are two tournaments in district tennis, team and individual. Team districts are dual meets consists of six singles and three doubles matches and each team will be seeded and paired to compete May 7-11. Individual districts are based on singles and doubles matches, to start no earlier than May 10 and close May 12, and each team will send two singles players and two doubles teams.

The district team champions from Class Two, District Six and from Class One, District Six will host the Team Sectionals May 19 but could start no earlier than May 17. The Class Two, District Five champion will also be in that tournament. Sectionals are a four team tournament with the winner to advance to the State Team Tournament, May 24, at Cooper Tennis Complex, Springfield

The top two district singles players and top two district doubles teams from Districts Five and Six will advance to team sectionals to be played May 14-16. Riverview and Duchesne will likely serve as sectional hosts. The singles and doubles winners from the Individual Sectionals will advance to the State Championships, May 25-26 at Cooper Tennis Complex.
