Sacred Heart Takes CYC Championship;

Games by Hosted By City of Florissant

The Sacred Heart Boys 9th and 10th grade team defeated St. Peters of Kirkwood 7-2 to capture the Juvenile Division CYC City/ County Championship on July 28.

Local parish teams that participated in the tournament were Sacred Heart with teams in the 5th grade close, 6th grade open, 8th grade closed and 9th/10th grade; St. Rose in the 6th grade open, 7th grade open and the 11th/12th grade; and  St. Norbert in the 5th grade open.

Florissant Mayor Tom Schneider and NCCYC Chairman Mike Moehlenkamp and Butch Rosier from the CYC Main office  report that participants from parishes throughout the entire St. Louis Archdiocese had high praise for the well kept fields and park facilities at St. Ferdinand Park and Koch Park during the CYC City/ County Baseball Championship tournament which finished play July 28.

Mayor Schneider, who attended many games at both parks congratulates the Florissant Parks Department and all of the CYC North County volunteers who helped organize, set-up/ clean-up, registration of players, scorekeeping and field set-up before and after the games. Men from St. Rose set up a sound systems for announcing players and playing baseball music between innings.
