Riverview, Parkway North, Crossroads To Host Girls Tennis Districts, Oct. 3-8

Riverview Gardens High School, Parkway North High School and Crossroads College Prep School (St. Louis) are among 32 high schools that were selected to host Girls Tennis Districts, Oct. 3-8.

Riverview will host Class Two, District Six, with Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North and McCluer competing in that field that includes team and individual tournaments. Parkway North will host Class Two, District Five, with Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word Academy, Pattonville and Ritenour competing in that field. Crossroads will host Class One, District Four with Lutheran North and three St. Louis Public Schools—Cleveland NJROTC, Soldan International Studies and Sumner.

TEAM TOURNAMENT — Scheduled for Oct. 3-7 the team matches consists of as many as six singles and three doubles matches. Sites for these team matches will be at the site of the higher seeded teams, on campus or off. The Team District Champion will advance to the Four Team Sectional Tournament to be held Oct. 14-16 at the winner of District Two (Class One) and the winner of District Six (Class Two). The Team Sectional Champions will advance to the State Team Tournament, Oct. 20 at Cooper Tennis Complex, Springfield, Mo.

   INDIVIUAL TOURNAMENT — They are scheduled to be held Oct. 5-7 at the tournament host site although Riverview Gardens, despite having 10 courts, could have it held at Forestwood Park in Ferguson, while Crossroads could hold their tournament at Dwight Davis Tennis Center, located in Forest Park in St. Louis. Each school assigned will send two singles players and two doubles teams but singles players can not play doubles or vice versa.
