On Albert’s Contract, Home Challenges With A 2-Year-Old, NASCAR

I am so glad that the entire Albert Pujols saga is over for awhile. I was getting so sick of hearing about it. It is really hard for all of us working folks to grasp someone arguing over hundreds of millions of dollars. He makes in one year what most of amilies will make in five generations. Its almost sickening.

If you have kids, you will appreciate this as I had to take a half hour break from writing this as I heard my 2-year- old crying and then a water spilling noise. Thank goodness, I got up quickly because my son stopped up the toiler and it overflowed all over the bathroom, into the basement onto the drywall, it was everywhere.

What do you do? What can you do? These are the moments in life where patience is definetly a virtue.  Someday I hope that my kids’ kids will give them back just a portion of the frustration  they can cause.

It’s the middle of winter and I had to drum up every fan in the house to try to dry out the floor, the drywall and everything else.  What a great day so far.

Back to Pujols though.  No-one  has brought up the fact that if he feels  so confident in himsel he should take a 5- year deal at $150 million and then in 5 years, $ 30 million will be at the low end of the spectrum, guys will be making $40 and $50 million. He will be then underpaid at the 5- year mark and he can renegotiate and get even more. Think about it.

NASCAR Starts Out Right

If you are a NASCAR fan, this past weekend was your holiday weekend. It was great to see racing start back up again, especially with the newly paved Daytona which created some great racing in all 3 of the series.

The cars running end to front was great as drafting proved to be a big part of this race. I think it is really cool how a 20-yea-old rookie only in his 2nd NASCAR start can win. It’s almost the Cinderella story and you know I love that aspect of sports. Anything can happen on any given day.

I know with Gateway being closed you would have to travel to see a race but believe me it is definitely worth it. The smell of the fuel and burning rubber is like no other. Ladies, you want to pick up a man, get some perfume that smells like a NASCAR race, I guarantee it will work.

Over the weekend, I took my two sons to the Monster Jam at the Dome. What an experience this was as we sat in the nose bleed seats along with 57,000 other folks to watch oversized trucks race and flip themselves over.

I must say that they saved the best for last as GraveDigger came out and flipped his truck over at the end to win the competition. Guess what, everybody left happy and they will all be back next year. Only in America can we not sell out a Rams game but fill the Dome completely full to watch monster trucks
