Soroptimists seek Applicants For Women’s Opportunity Award

Soroptimist International of Greater St. Louis is seeking applicants for its Women’s Opportunity Award.

To be eligible, women must be head of their household with primary financial responsibility for supporting their family, attend or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree program, have financial need, and reside in the St. Louis/ St. Louis County Metropolitan area.

The $750 award may be used to offset expenses associated with the effort to attain higher education, including tuition, books, childcare, carfare or any other education-related expense.

Applications are available by calling Mitch Hannekan at 832-0289 or Grace Zykan at 837-3320. The deadline for application submission is Dec. 15, 2010. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Soroptimist International of Greater St. Louis is a volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. The Soroptimist organization joins with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in 120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community based projects benefitting women.
