Trinity Catholic High School will be competing in February in larger enrollment classes in Basketball, Boys and Girls, as well as Wrestling when district tournaments take place.
Trinity Basketball moves up from Class Three to Class Four and will compete in District Five, that will play their games at Gateway Tech, St. Louis. Competing against Trinity will be Jennings, McCluer South-Berkeley, tournament host Beaumont, Soldan International Studies and Sumner.
In Wrestling Trinity moves up from Class One to Class Two and will compete in District Two, a 14-team district that includes teams from the St. Louis area as well as Lincoln County and Mid-Missouri. Also competing with Trinity from North County is McCluer South-Berkeley.
Meanwhile Two Suburban North Conference teams, Hazelwood East and McCluer, will be moving their Wrestling Classes Down from Class Four to Class Three. They will compete in Class Two a 14-team district that includes teams from St. Louis, St. Charles and Warren Counties as well as Hannibal High School. The other Suburban North teams — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West, McCluer North, Pattonville, Ritenour and Riverview Gardens — will remain in Class Four and will be in District Two with eight other teams.
In Basketball the only other change is in district assignments as Hazelwood West will compete in Class Five, District Five against Tournament host DeSmet as well as Incarnate Word Academy, Pattonville, Ritenour, Parkway Central and Parkway North. Hazelwood Central will host Class Five, District Two, with Normandy to replace Hazelwood West and will join Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer and Riverview Gardens. Lutheran North and North County Tech remains in Class Three.
FIVE NORTH COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAMS will be competing Dec. 13-17 at the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament in O’Fallon, Mo., which will be played in two gyms. On Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. Hazelwood East will play North County Tech and Hazelwood West plays Fort Zumwalt North. At 6:30 McCluer plays Riverview Gardens while Cleveland NJROTC meets Orchard Farm.
Consolation and Championship semifinal games will be played Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. and 6:30. On Dec. 17 the third and seventh place games will be played at 5 p.m. while the consolation and championship finals will be at 6:30.
NORTH COUNTY TECH GIRLS THIRD AT LUTHERAN-ST. CHARLES — North County Tech Girls Basketball took third place at the Little Caesars Cougar Invitational at Lutheran High-St. Charles County. North Tech won 56-25 over Wright City on Nov. 30, lost Dec. 1 to St. Charles West, 64-61, and on Dec. 3 won 70-43 over Lutheran-St. Charles County North Tech played Dec. 7 at Christian High in O’Fallon, Mo., and visits Hazelwood Central, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.
