Got Your Final Four Picks? Try This Way

BY RANDY GARDNER

Alright, March Madness is here and who are you picking? It is unbelievable how big this event is even for people that don’t even care about college basketball. You will see office pools that have everyone imaginable in it and sometimes it is very interesting to see who wins.

I choose my final four, by the cool names and colors of the teams. Just to show you how that works, three years ago, I won the whole thing with orange-clad Syracuse.

This year I am going with royal blue Brigham Young to be in the final four along with Duke, Maryland, and Washington. Lets see how I do and I will tell you how I picked these teams after he tournament. This will be a great couple of weeks for all.

It was great to see McCluer North win its first high school state championship in Boys basketball and win it convincingly. Randy Reed and the guys worked hard all year long and it has finally paid off with a state title. Congratulations to the North Stars.

DETROIT RAMS ADD 2 MORE

It’s really funny to see where all of these Rams players migrate to after they leave the team. They seem to flocking to Detroit to play for the Lions and offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Sean MacDonald is the latest to go. I will tell you what, give the Lions two or three more years and they will be a contender, just watch.

Also, defensively, Travis Fischer has gone to the Lions. Fischer started his career on a high note but was plagued with injuries here in St. Louis. Another guy that I will hate to see go is Adam Timmerman, it was really sad to see this guy not be able to finish out his career here in St. Louis.

As I write this article, the Cards are 8-5 in Florida. Do we smell repeat? Should we get excited as we look into the stable of pitchers they have. If can stay healthy, the Cards will be better than last year As we saw though, the best team doesn’t always win. It’s all about when you get hot. The Cards need to remember that along with the fans, it’s a marathon not a sprint. Well see you in October.

Finally, If you are in the mood for some football, the River City Rage start their season this weekend with a preseason game at the Family Arena on Saturday, March 17. This team should really be hot this year. They definitely have a chance to go all the way. The tickets are affordable and its up close in your face football action. See you at the game.
