H’Wood West, Trinity, Lutheran North Are Top Seeds In District Girls Soccer

Hazelwood West, Trinity Catholic and Lutheran North are the top seeds in Missouri State High School Girls Soccer which begins May 15 and concludes by May 20

Hazelwood West  and  second-seeded Hazelwood Central have first round byes and will play May 18 at McCluer North, on the football field. On May 15, at 11 a.m., third-seeded McCluer North will host sixth-seeded Riverview Gardens on the school’s upper field because the football field is being used for district track and field. Also on May 15 at 11 a.m. fifth-seeded Hazelwood East takes on fourth-seeded McCluer at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley on the field inside the track.

On May 18 West takes on the McCluer-East winner at 5 p.m. while Central takes on the North-Riverview winner at 3:30. Those two winners return to the McCluer North football field May 20 for the 5 p.m. championship game. The district champion advances to the sectional round May 25 at Anheuser-Busch Center, Fenton.

Trinity Catholic will host Class One, District Four tournament and will have a first-round bye. The first-round games will be May 17 as fourth-seeded Winfield takes on fifth Lutheran-St. Charles County O’Fallon Christian at 4:30, while the other games are at Trinity including second-seeded O’Fallon Christian taking on seventh-seeded North County Technical at 4:30 and third-seeded Orchard Farm plays sixth-seed Barat Academy at 6:30.

On May 18 Trinity, runner up in Class One State last year, will hot the Winfield-Lutheran winner at 6:30 wile the Christian-North Tech winner plays Orchard Farm or Barat at 4:30. Those two winners play at Trinity in the Championship game May 19 at 6:30.

Lutheran North is in Class One, District Two hosted by Maplewood Richmond Heights and has a first-round bye. On May 15 fourth-seeded Maplewood hosts fifth-seeded Cleveland Naval Junior ROTC at 11 a.m., second -seeded St. Elizabeth Academy will play seventh-seeded Northwest Academy of Transportation and Law with Big Picture Alt. at 1 p.m. and third-seeded Crossroads College Prep plays sixth-seeded Carnahan High School of the Future at 3 p.m.

On May 17 at MRH Lutheran North will play Maplewood or NJROTC at 4 p.m. while St. Elizabeth-Northwest Academy winner plays the Crossroads-Carnahan winner at 6 p.m. The two winners play at MRH May 19 at 6 p.m. for the championship.

Class One winners in Districts Two and Four advance to the Quarterfinals at A-B Center on May 27.

INCARNATE WORD ACADEMY, defending Class Three State Champions, is seeded second in District Six to be played at Ladue Middle School and will play third-seeded Ladue-Horton Watkins May 18 at 3:30. St. Josephs’ Academy is the top seed and will play May 18, 5:15 against the winner of the May 15, 11 a.m. game, fourth-seeded Ritenour or fifth-seeded Normandy. The May 18 winners play for the championship May 19 at 4 p.m. for the right to advance to the sectionals, May 25 at the A-B Center.

NORTH COUNTY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL won their third straight Missouri Christian State Girls Soccer championship May 1 in Joplin. Records and state tourney information were not available. Also the NCCS Baseball team will attempt to complete the rain-delayed Missouri Christian State Tourney May 13.
