Christmas Wonderland in Alton
Experience the enchantment of Christmas at the “Christmas Wonderland” holiday light display. The “Grandpa Gang” has been at it again transforming Rock Spring Park in Alton, Illinois into a Winter Wonderland.
Visitors can drive through the park to view more than 4 million lights decorating the park. This year the popular Enchanted Forest where visitors vote on their favorite decorated tree returns to the park, as do visits with Santa Claus! Take your own free photos with Santa!Christmas Wonderland opened the day after Thanksgiving through late December. Visit the twinkling lights from 6 pm to 9 pm Monday – Friday or 5 pm to 9 pm on Saturday & Sunday. The suggested donation is $10 for cars and small vans or $1 per person for vehicles holding more than 10 people through Dec 27

USAF Band Concert – December 2, 7 pm Touhill Performing Arts Center
The US Air Force Band of Mid-America will present its annual “Spirit of the Season” holiday concerts in the St. Louis metro area. Admission to these holiday performances is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Reserve your tickets today at afbandtix.com. This is a family-friendly, all-ages event. This year’s holiday series will feature a special guest reading of “The Christmas Truce” by USAF veteran Kathy Lawton Brown, host of Classic 107.3 FM. “The Christmas Truce” tells the story of a series of unofficial ceasefires that took place along with the Western Front of the First World War during Christmas of 1914. Additionally, Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead a performance of the Muppets’ song “Christmas is Coming.”

Classic 107.3, “The Voice for the Arts in St. Louis,” has a new episode in its series for school-aged children called “Musical Ancestries™.” The new episode explores the splendor of Mexican culture through its music, dance, art, history, and rich cultural traditions. Musical Ancestries is designed to create a pathway to understanding and appreciation as children explore the great diversity of our community.
