Mayor Robert G. Lowery, Sr. of Florissant announced that the State License office located in Florissant Meadows Shopping Center will remain under the management and control of the Florissant Rotary Club for the distribution of fee funds in the North County area for civic and charitable events. The Mayor was notified by Governor Jay Nixon’s office, as well as by Senator Jane Cunningham, who represents this area.

Since the original appointment, which came through Mayor Lowery from Governor Mel Carnahan, the Florissant Rotary Club has been able to donate millions of dollars for Florissant and North County. Mayor Lowery said that he has been fearful that we could lose the office to another party that would not be dedicated to our community as the Rotary Club has been. There were other bidders for this office who may not have used it for enhancing the area, but the Mayor worked very hard to keep the office here.
