Lindsey Lane has Free Food Trailer

Food Donations Continue
To Arrive at Florissant Home

Long time civic and business leader and member of the Hazelwood School Board Mark Behlmann has set up a sort of food bank in the front yard of his house on Lindsey Lane in Florissant. It started small as people would bring food items and those needing food could pick it up there. After a news story on Channel 2 broke, more and more food donations came by dropping off items.

“Food continues to come in from people walking and driving by and dropping off,” said Behlmann. Donut Cupboard droped off several boxes of donuts and “they went very fast.”
“One of those ‘Little Library’ shelves was added to the food bank. It’s really a great idea and is doing great,” said Behlmann. “ Children flock to that more so than the candy, well maybe equally,” he said.

When they are predicting rain he covers the trailer of food with a large blue tarp has also been extended to hold more food.
“The storm the other night ruined my 10 x 10 canopy which is okay; it was cheap to begin with. I now have a 10 x 20 canopy which seems to be working nicely,” Behlmann said.

“Thanks to everyone who has helped out and participated so this shall continue,” he added.
