Prep Fall Season Begins Aug. 24

Football Show-Me Bowl State Finals End Dec. 1

High School Sports for the fall season in 2018 starts a week later this year than last year, 2017, as practices begin Aug. 6 instead of July 30.

The Fall, 2018, season begins on Aug. 24, and that is for Girls Golf, Girls Tennis, Softball, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Girls Field Hockey, Boys Soccer and Football. Jamborees for team sports — including Softball, Girls Volleyball, Girls Field Hockey, Boys Soccer and Football — can take place after nine days of practices.

The release of district assignments for Missouri State High School Activities Association Sports, other than Boys Swimming and Diving will be Aug. 17

   FOOTBALL — With the regular season, starting one week later this year than last, post-season begins Oct. 26 with districts. It will end with Show-Me Bowl at Faurot Field, University of Missouri in Columbia. Eight-Man and Class Six Finals will be on Nov. 24, Classes Two and Four are Nov. 30 and Classes One, Three and Five are Dec.1.

CROSS COUNTRY — Post-season action begins with districts on Oct. 20 (Class Four) and Oct. 27 (Classes One-Three) and ends Nov. 4 with the State Championships at Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City. Starting in 2019 and four yeas after the state championships will be in Columbia at the Gans Creek Recreation Area.

BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING — Qualifying for State begins with the first meet of the season and closes Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. The State Championships will be at the St. Peters’ Rec-Plex Nov. 8-9 for Class Two and Nov. 9-10 for Class One.

GIRLS GOLF — Post-Season competition begins with District Tournament, starting no earlier than Oct. 1. That ends with the state championships Oct. 15-16 at Mozingo Lake Golf Course, Maryville (Class One) and Swope Memorial Golf Course, Kansas City (Class Two).

   GIRLS TENNIS — Districts begin with team tournaments opening on Oct. 1 and the singles/doubles tournaments follow. The post-season Tennis ends in Springfield with the state tournaments, at the Cooper Tennis Complex. That takes place Oct. 18 (Team) and Oct. 19-20 (Singles/Doubles).

SOFTBALL — Postseason play begins with district tournament, which opens Oct. 10. It ends with the state championships Oct 26-27 at the Killian Softball Complex, Springfield.

   GIRLS VOLLEYBALL — Postseason competition begins Oct. 22 with Districts, sectionals follow on Oct. 27 and the State Tournaments are Nov. 2-3 at the Show-Me Center, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

BOYS SOCCER — Classes One and Two begins districts on Oct. 22 and the postseason ends with the State Tournaments, Nov. 9-10 at World Wide Technologies Soccer Park, Fenton. Classes Three and Four begins districts on Oct. 27 and the post season ends with the State Tournament Nov. 16-17

NORTH COUNTY CHRISTIAN Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball ends with the Missouri Christian State Athletic Association Tournaments, Oct 25-27 in Joplin.
