For the third time in the last four Football meetings including the last two Class Six, District Two Finals (a.k.a. Quarterfinals) Christian Brothers College High School sent home visting Hazelwood Central without the Hawks scoring a point and ending their season in the process.

CBC, the defending Class Six State Champions, rolled over Hazelwood Central 47-0 to improve the Cadets record to 12-0 and increased their winning streak to 26. Hazelwood Central finished their season at 9-3. CBC had outscored Hazelwood Central 92-0 in the last two Class Two, District Six title games and in the last three games played at CBC, including 2011, the Cadets outscored the Hawks 127-0. In 24 of their last 26 games CBC has scored 40 points or more and the average margin of victory in those games is over 43 points with eight shutouts.

In the most recent CBC whitewashing of Hazelwood Central the Cadets did the most damage in the second quarter. CBC outscored the Hawks 20-0 and led 26-0 at halftime while adding 19 more unanswered points in the second half. Blake Charlton mastered the Cadet rout by running for a touchdown then completed 11 out of 13 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns including five passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns to Kamryn Babb.

CBC remains at home Friday, Nov. 13, to play a 7 p.m. Class Six Semifinal against Springfield Kickapoo in a battle of 12-0 teams. The other semifinal pits 12-0 Blue Springs South at 11-1 Kirkwood, also Friday at 7 p.m. Semifinal winners play two weeks later, Nov. 27 at 7:30, in the State Championship game at the Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis. Kickapoo is seeking their first state title game after being semifinalist in 1995 and 2000, Blue Springs South has won state in 2006 and 2011, at CBCs expense, and Kirkwood won Class Five State in 2012.

Hazelwood Central had won eight in a row before losing to CBC after a 1-2 start. In the previous two seasons the Hawks had a combined record of 23-2. Hazelwood Central’s last state final appearance was 2010, losing 10-7 to Kansas City Rockhurst after the Hawks won Class Six State in 2008 and 2009.

CBC is not the only Metro Catholic Conference school to win district. CHAMINADE COLLEGE PREP won Class Five, District Two and plays Friday, 7 p.m. at Rockwood Summit in the Quarterfinal round. The winner advances to the Semifinal round against Carthage or Nixa, Nov. 20 or 21, site and time to be determined, for the right to play in the Edward Jones Dome, Nov. 28, 5:30 for the Class Five title

Chaminade is 10-1 and their only loss was to CBC, 55-7. After a first-round bye Chaminade defeated Hazelwood East 42-6 and Pattonville 20-18. Rockwood Summit is 10-2 and won Class Five, District One.
