The Hazelwood School District hosted more than 2,500 attendees for its 9th Annual Back-to-School Fair at the St. Louis Outlet Mall. This year’s fair included student entertainment, school booths, as well as vital community resources for Hazelwood students and families.

In addition to the information, immunizations and other resources, HSD families were provided back packs and school supplies, donated to the District by several community partners including the Black Jack Fire Protection District, HSD Foundation, Aetna Better Health for Missouri and Homes for Heroes. Other donors included: St. Louis Association of REALTORS®; St. Louis Association of REALTORS® Affiliate Council; Home for Heroes; Janet McAfee, Inc.; USA Mortgage; Investors Title Company; CMG Financial; Security Title; and Continental Title of Missouri. Care to Learn-Hazelwood sponsored the free immunizations for eligible students.

Hot 104.1 radio personality A-Plus emceed the entertainment stage.

“The Back-to-School Fair is an excellent way to start our school year off on the right foot,” said Dr. Ingrid Clark-Jackson, HSD interim superintendent. “It’s an opportunity for staff to make connections with our students and families. We are also grateful for the partnership and support of the generous and community-minded organizations and businesses helping to ensure a positive start for our students.”

The first day of class for the Hazelwood School District was Monday, Aug. 10.
