Hazelwood’s 2015 Fourth of July fireworks display will be held at White Birch Park, 1186 Teson Road, and is scheduled to begin at dark, about 9:15 p.m. and last about 20 minutes. Because voters passed Proposition P in April, the additional revenue stream has allowed Hazelwood to resume its annual free pyro-musical fireworks display on July 4th. In the event of rain, plans are to reschedule for July 5.

This is the city‘s fifth consecutive fireworks display with J&M Displays, Inc. The show will add 3,800 additional shots to the program, making the shell count slightly higher than that of the 2013 show.

“During our Proposition P campaign, we used the theme, ‘Protect, Provide and Preserve.’ The strong support we received from voters with the passage of Proposition P has allowed us to restore most of the services and programs we were forced to cut in order to reduce our deficit. One of them was our annual Fourth of July fireworks display which we promised to bring back if it was approved,” Hazelwood Mayor Matthew Robinson said.

Disabled parking will be available at White Birch Park, with parking for other visitors at Hazelwood West High School, Armstrong Elementary School. Howdershell Park and the Knights of Columbus. Shuttle bus service will be provided from Hazelwood West, Armstrong Elementary and Howdershell Park starting at 7 p.m. Those who park at Howdershell Park and Knights of Columbus are within walking distance.

Parking will be restricted on streets around White Birch Park to allow for pedestrian traffic. Streets with no parking from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4th are Altavia Dr., Chula Dr., Monte Dr., Christina Marie Lane, Christina Marie Court, Woodcrest Lane, Nathaniel Court, Amanda Lynn Dr., Freeland Dr. and Teson Rd.

“We encourage all Hazelwood residents and those living in surrounding communities to attend our Fourth of July fireworks display this year. Let’s pack the park with people and show the rest of St. Louis why Hazelwood is one of the finest cities in North County,” said Mayor Robinson.
