Ferguson residents are offering a “Pumpkin Walk” for area children celebrating
Halloween. The event was created to offer a safe trick-or-treat activity
amid the ongoing unrest in Ferguson. It will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Dozens of homeowners in the Old Ferguson East neighborhood have placed “Open
for Halloween” signs on their lawns to welcome local children. The signs
were generously donated by Scott Newger, president of Ferguson-based
Newger Materials. The new CVS store in Florissant donated $5000 worth of
candy for homeowners to distribute to trick-or-treaters on the Pumpkin
Walk.

Two Ferguson trolleys will pick up children at the leasing offices of Canfield
Green, Northwinds, Oakmont and Versailles Apartments starting at 12:45pm
and take them to the Old Ferguson East Neighborhood where volunteers
will escort groups on the Pumpkin Walk. Families are welcome to take
children to participating homes on their own during the event, or they
can join groups walking together.

All Ferguson families are invited to participate. Children under 18 must be
accompanied by an adult. For more details on trolley times and meeting
places, please visit http://iloveferguson.com/news
