Alton – Audubon Eagle Festival Saturday, Jan. 4

On Saturday, Jan. 4, the 2014 eagle watching season will officially kick off with the Eagle Festival.

The Audubon Center at Riverlands at the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary will be one of the hosts of the festival from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The center will have eagle viewing walks and vendor displays previewing upcoming activities and events happening throughout the season.

Downtown Alton will feature an Ice Block Party. Eagle ice carving displays from IceVisions will be showcased, with one sculpture being created during the party. There will also be a live eagle meet and greet.

Seymour Bluffs, an eagle mascot, and a life-sized eagle nest will be on hand for plenty of photo opportunities. There will also be an ice putt-putt event.  Also, there will be an ice cube giveaway; each ice cube will have a special offer from a downtown business for that weekend to enjoy discounts or free gifts.
