Eagle Springs Golf Course Host Prep Class 4 District Tournament, May 1

Missouri State High School Activities Association Boys Golf opens district play April 28 but the majority of high schools in the Florissant Valley area will compete May 1 at Eagle Springs Golf Course.

All Eight Suburban North Conference teams will compete against two high schools from the Parkway School District, Central and North, in Class Four, District Three at Eagle Springs.

All three high schools from the Hazelwood School District —Central, East and West — two high schools in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, McCluer and McCluer North, along with Pattonville, Ritenour and Riverview Gardens, tourney host, will compete against the two Parkway Schools for a district title or to send individuals to State, May 12-13 in Republic, Mo. The district champion will send the entire team to Republic and compete for the state title while the top ten golfers from the other competing teams will go to state but if a team sends four or five to state that team will compete for the state title with just those qualifying individuals.

Meanwhile Trinity Catholic will travel to Mexico, Mo., Arthur Hills Golf Course, April 28, to compete in Class Three, District Four for a chance to compete in State, May 12-13 at Springfield’s Rivercut Golf Course. And Lutheran North will compete in Class Two, District Two, April 29 in Troy, Mo., at Woods Fort Golf Course for a chance to go to state, May 12-13 at Springfield’s Deer Lake Golf Course.

Prior to districts Suburban North high schools will compete in the Suburban North Championship meet April 23, 8 a.m., at Crystal Springs. This Friday at 9 a.m. the Hazelwood Central Hawk Classic will take place at Woodlands and Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer, Pattonville and Ritenour will be among the teams involved. Monday Trinity will be competing in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association Tournament, Monday 9 a.m. at Quail Creek while Lutheran North will be in the ABC League Tournament, 12 noon at Old Warson.

BOYS TENNIS DISTRICTS — Area high schools will be at Parkway North High School for Class Two district play or Mary Institute-Country Day School for Class One. Districts are to begin May 5 and must be finished by May 10.

Suburban North Conference high schools — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North, McCluer, Pattonville, Ritenour and Riverview Gardens — will be in Class Two, District Three at Parkway North while Lutheran North and Trinity Catholic will be in Class One, District Three at MICDS.

The top four teams in each district will advance to team regional round May 13 with the top two teams hosting the event. Team Regional winners in District Three, Class One and Class Two, advance to the Team Sectionals the weekend of May 17 with the winner of District Four or the fourth-place team in District Four, who will host the Quarterfinal round and that winner advances to State, May 22 at Cooper Tennis Complex, Springfield.

The top two singles players and the top two doubles teams from districts advance to state May 23-24 at Cooper Tennis Complex.

Riverview Gardens will host the Suburban North Conference Tournament, April 25 at 3 p.m. and April 26 at 9 a.m. In Suburban North dual-meet standings as of April 13 Pattonville is 3-0 conference, 6-2 overall, Hazelwood West is 3-0, 3-1, McCluer North is 2-0, 4-2, McCluer is 1-1, 1-2, Hazelwood East is 1-2, 2-3, Hazelwood Central is 1-2, 2-5, Riverview Gardens is 0-3, 1-4, and Ritenour is 0-3, 0-4.
