BY RANDY GARDNER
Every once in a while I get a chance to just go to an event and sit as a fan and not worry about taking notes for a show or a column. That was my circumstances last Saturday night, as myself and 60,000 other St. Louisans’ gathered at the Edward Jones Dome for Monster Jam.
What a bonding experience for my dad, myself, and my son, who is now 3 years old. They both had a blast. I was a little unsure about what to expect but it was quit a show. It was three hours of loud big trucks just slamming things around. What else can you ask for on a Saturday night? This sport is so popular that they already started selling tickets for next year’s event.
Would I go by myself?
I am not sure but it is definitely something that you should experience once in a lifetime. The fan favorites like Batman, Maximum Destruction, and Grave Digger brought the fans to their feet as they tried to turn the trucks over and knock the wheels off of the trucks in the final freestyle event.
As the wheels went flying, the crowd went crazy and everybody went home happy.
River City Rage Season Opens March 2.
In just two weeks, the River City Rage will kick off their indoor season with home games on March 2 and March 9. The team has taken on a whole new look this year as they have new ownership and coaching in from San Diego.
This team has always put a good product on the field but this year they’re going all out it. They have more Division 1 college players and players that have NFL Europe experience than ever before.
As I have talked about before, this indoor game is very fan friendly and you will love it. It is truly an affordable event for the entire family. I am going out on a limb early and will say that this team will win it all this year— and you can hold me to that. Are You Ready for Baseball?
How many of you are ready for baseball? I am, but I am not ready for all of the crap that is coming with it, which includes all of these accusations of drug abuse by players.
Look, there is one simple solution: test for the drug use frequently and if a player is using, there should be no three strike rule. You use and your gone. This will stop it when a player has a chance of losing his livelihood.
This will never happen though because they are not serious about stopping it. I am so tired of hearing about it and from what I have heard, a lot of fans are tired of it to. Do something or let it go. Please.
