District Boys Soccer Tourneys Set For at Civic Center, Trinity High

Missouri High School Boys Soccer begins their road to the Anheuser-Busch Center, Fenton, with district tournaments as early as Saturday and close out no later than Nov. 3.

For Florissant area teams in Class Three competes in District Three at the Florissant Civic Center field, adjacent to the Eagan Civic Center complex and across Waterford Drive from the Ferguson-Florissant School District offices housed in the former Florissant Junior High. Tourney host McCluer North, Suburban North Conference champion Hazelwood West, and 2006 Class Three Quarterfinalist Hazelwood Central will compete along with McCluer and Hazelwood East. Dates, times, seedings and pairings are not available at press time and the district champion plays the District Four winner in the Sectional round Nov. 6, 7 p.m. at the A-B Center.

Meanwhile Trinity Catholic will host the Class One, District Two tournament, dates, times seedings and pairings are not available at press time. Competing against Trinity is Class One State runner up John Burroughs along with Lutheran North, Yeshiva, Crossroads College Prep and Metro. The district champion plays the District One winner in the Quarterfinal round, Nov. 6, 5 p.m. at A-B Center.

The Class One semifinals and finals are Nov. 9-10 and the Class Three Quarterfinal round is Nov. 10, all at A-B Center.

BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING–There are no district meets in this one-class sport just the state championships, Nov. 9-10 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Participants from Suburban North Conference teams must qualify for state in other meets by Nov. 1, the final round of the Suburban North meet at Bridgeton, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 29. Benjamin Solari, Hazelwood West, top-11 finisher in four events the last two years, and John Krause, Hazelwood Central, ninth in the 50-yard freestyle least year, will be returning to the state meet.
