Blues are In Deep Trouble After 2 Disappointing Loses

By Randy Gardner

What a disappointment Tuesday night afterI sat down to watch the Blues game, I had a late meeting at work and then was excited to get home and eat and watch the game.

First though, family duties— help put the kids to bed.

Finally a chance to sit down and watch the game with a plate full of Nachos, to my surprise the game was already 4-0. So what does a person do, sit and watch hopelessly to a game that you know is out of reach or do you watch some other mind numbing TV. I decided to sit and watch for awhile and it was like watching a high school team play and NHL team.

The Blues were out played  and out classed in every way last night. What I was  surprised with though was that the fans weren’t booing the whole time. St. Louis fans expect a lot out of this team and they have totally fallen apart over the last week. I think they are experiencing maybe a bit of what I talked about last week— that they were overlooking the Kings. Well the Kings weren’t overlooking them.

The Blues are in trouble. They head back to Los Angeles down 2-0 games. This will be a hard hole for this team to dig out of. Look at the Cardinals though last year, crazier things have happened in the world of sports. Would you agree that, St. Louis teams keep all of us fans on our toes every year?

Rams Draft Choices a Mystery

I don’t even know what to say about the Rams draft choices because I have never heard of any of them. Was it smart to pick a defensive end first in the draft, I don’t know?

Everyone says that it starts on defense. We did get a cornerback and a receiver later in the draft but does that solve the immediate concern on offense or should I say lack of offense. What I fear most is that the fans are seeing this as another Rams screw up in drafting.

Will this first rounder excite fans and put them in the seats like a big name receiver would have, heck no? For no other reason than for a fan base image, I would have picked a big namer that would put fans in the seats and get some excitement back at the dome .

We’ll see though; there are no immediate fixes in the NFL, you have to build, and that’s something the Rams are excellent at, building. Building, I don’t know what, but building.

We’ll see you at the Valley of Flowers parade this weekend, hopefully we will have some nice weather. Remember to say hi, if you see me and give me your thoughts on St Louis sports. I always enjoy talking to the readers of my column. Have a great weekend.
