Saturday, Dec. 3

   Pancakes With Santa will be held at Florissant Valley Christian Church (Disciples of  Christ) 1325 N. US Highway 67, Florissant,  from 9- 11 a.m. Afterwards Santa will read The Nativity Story and talk with the children. There will be crafts for the children to make and take home. $5 per person with no charge for those three and younger. ( 314-837-6767.)

   The PTA at Russell Elementary School is hosting a Vendor and Craft Fair, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The fair is a fundraiser for the school, as well as a one-stop shopping experience. The fair will have representatives from Scentsy, Thirty-One Gifts, Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, Usborne Books, Cookie Lee, Tupperware, Celebrating Home and Avon will be at the fair, as well as various crafters, Cost is $25 per table. Wednesday, Dec. 7

    The Lewis and Clark Branch of St. Louis County Library, 9909 Lewis and Clark, will recognize the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor with a special reception and program on Wednesday, at 6 p.m.  Veterans from the nearby Missouri Veterans Home will be invited to attend in honor of all those whose lives were lost in the attack. Refreshments will be provided before a free showing of the movie “Tora! Tora! Tora!”

   Prairie Commons Library Make and Take: Perpetual Calendar Journal, 7 p.m., 915 Utz Ln. Create a perpetual calendar journal, where you write down one thing that happens on each day of the year. All materials required for this project will be supplied; but you are welcome to bring your preferred adhesives and snips. Registration required. Auditorium. (314-994-3300)

Saturday Dec. 10

    Florissant Valley Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 1325 N. US Highway 67, Florissant will have a unique shopping day  8-noon offering gifts (jewelry, garments, ornaments, household items, foods, etc.) handmade by artisans in third world countries. The church makes noprofit from these sales. All money goes to the artisans who made the products so they may be able to support their families. (314-837-6767)

   Snack with Santa from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the James J. Eagan Center in Florissant Resident cards are required to obtain tickets Tickets are free but are required to obtain admission. Tickets are available at the James J. Eagan Center and JFK Community Center beginning Nov. 28.
