‘Shop Chamber First’ for the Holidays; Then Take Your Receipts to GNC Office

The Greater North County Chamber of Commerce will kick off its 2014 “Shop Chamber First” campaign just in time for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

The campaign, sponsored by Christian Hospital, encourages residents throughout North County to spend their money locally, which in turn helps make for stronger businesses, stronger schools and stronger communities.

“The purpose of the campaign is to heighten awareness among area residents and consumers about the scope of businesses that are available to shoppers in our North County community,” said Carolyn Marty, president of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. “What better time to encourage people to ‘Shop Chamber First’ than during the holiday season and also to support Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29.”

As an added incentive, consumers who shop at a Chamber member business from Black Friday, Nov. 28, through Dec, 31 and mail copies of their receipts with their names and telephone numbers to the Chamber’s office will be eligible to win one of five gifts.

Consumers are not limited to only retail shopping either. If they have services performed by one of the chamber professionals—doctors, dentists, chiropractors, etc.—they can ask for a generic Chamber receipt of services rendered.

Receipts can be dropped off at the Chamber office or mailed to: Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, 420 West Washington Street, Florissant, MO 63031. Deadline for submission of receipts is at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12. The drawing will be held at the Chamber Membership Luncheon on Jan. 21.

Consumers can find participating members by looking for the “Shop Chamber First” decal displayed in the windows of businesses, stopping by the Chamber office to pick up a member directory or visiting the member directory online www.greaternorthcountychamber.com.
