West Volleyball Top Seed At McCluer

Hazelwood West Girls Volleyball is seeded first in Class Four, District Six at McCluer High School which is scheduled to begin Oct. 24.

Actual dates and times are not available at press time including the date and time of the district title match. West will play the winner of the McCluer-Hazelwood East match while second-seeded Hazelwood Central plays the winner of the McCluer North-Riverview Gardens match.

The Class Four, District Six champion will host the Class Four Sectional Tournament, including quarterfinal round, Oct. 29.

Class Four, District Five will be played Oct. 25-27 at Incarnate Word Academy. On Oct. 25 University City plays Gateway Tech at 4 p.m., followed by IWA against Normandy at 5 p.m. and Ritenour against Roosevelt at 6 p.m. On Oct. 26 Rosati-Kain plays U. City or Gateway at 4 p.m. while the winners from the other two Oct. 25 matches play at 5 p.m.. The Championship match is Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

Class Three, District Five will be held at Lutheran North with North Tech, Trinity Catholic, Jennings, McCluer South-Berkeley and Soldan-International Studies in the field. Tournament parings, dates and times are not available at press time and the district champ plays in the Oct. 29 sectional tourney at the winner of Class Three, District Six.

CROSS COUNTRY-Sioux Passage Park will be the site for Class Four, District Three, Oct. 22 with tourney host Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word Academy,  McCluer North, McCluer, Nerinx Hall, Normandy, Ritenour, Roosevelt, St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Louis University High and Webster Groves competing.

The top four teams and runners from other teams that finish in the top 30 will advance to the Oct. 29 Sectional Two meet at McNair Park with the top four teams and runners from other teams that finish in the top 30 at McNair advance to state, Nov. 5 at Jefferson City.

On Oct. 29 Lutheran North will be in Class Two, District Two at Principia while McCluer South-Berkeley and Jennings will be in Class Three, District Four in Warrenton. The top two teams and runners from other teams in the top 15 in the Oct. 29 districts advance to state, Nov. 5 in Jefferson City.
