Trinity, Ritter, Lutheran North
Load Up For Class 3 Track & Field

Last Fall Trinity Catholic defeated Cardinal Ritter in the Class Three State Football Championship Game while Lutheran North lost in the semifinals to eventual Class Two Champion Blair Oaks.
This Friday-Saturday, May 24-25 the same three schools will battle for state titles in Track And Field at. Jefferson City High’s Licklider Track Complex, which is inside Adkins Stadium. Trinity is looking to win their first state titles after the boys took second and the girls took third last year.
Cardinal Ritter are defending Boys State Champions and Girls Runners Up. Ritter is looking for their fifth state Boys title since 1985 and their first girls State title after two straight runner-up finishes
Lutheran North is looking for their fifth State Boys title and their fourth State Girls title. Both won their first in 1995 but the Boys last won in 2001 while the Girls last won in 1997.
Lutheran North hosted Class Three District Two but finished second in both while Cardinal Ritter won both. In Sectional One at Hillsboro, Ritter won both while Lutheran North took second in boys and fourth in girls. Trinity dominated in sweeping Class Three, District Three at Living Word Christian, O’Fallon, and sweeping Sectional Two at Montgomery County.
TRINITY CATHOLIC — Four girls make up one-fourth of the state entrants in the 100-Meter Hurdles. Sophomore Akilah Heffner, district thee and sectional two winners, freshman Brook Moore, District and Sectional Triple jump winners, sophomore Sydney Juszczyk, district and sectional Javelin winners, and senior Shaila Jones, are the state quartet. Heffner also won district and sectional Long Jump, senior DeAyvion Smith won district, sectional high Jump, Kayla Millett won district, and sectional titles in the 300-Meter hurdles and the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 Relays won districts and sectionals.
On the Boys’ side, a hurdler and s sprinter won District Three and Sectional Two titles in two events each Junior Thomas Sonntag won the 110- and 300-Meter Hurdles while senior Kemric Winston won the 100- and 200-Meter Dashes. Senior DaJuan Yong won District Three and Sectional Two High Jump while the 4×100- and 4×200-Meter Relays won district and sectional titles.
CARDINAL RITTER — Senior Jameson Williams leads the Ritter Boys with District Two and Sectional One titles in the 100- and 200–Meter dashes, Senior Rasheed Ricketts won district and sectional Triple Jump, junior Jaden Williams won district and sectional 300-Meter hurdles. Finally, the 4×100-4×400-Meter Relays won District Two and Sectional One. The Girls 4×200- and 4×400-Meter Relays won district and sectional titles while sophomore Brayanna Washington won the district and sectional 100-Meter Dash.
LUTHERAN NORTH — In Boys Track and Field Seniors Yi Xu (Pole Vault), Cornell Robinson (Discus) and Issac Stout (3,200–Meter Run) won district titles and still qualified for state while senior Joshua Hopkins won Sectional Long Jump. On the girls side junior Taylor Ross was the only District Three Pole Vaulter and she won Sectional Two in the event while senior Jordyn White won district and sectional Triple Jump.
CLASS FIVE – HAZELWOOD WEST — The Boys, third in District Four at Pattonville and Second in Sectional Two at Lafayette, have juniors Justin Robinson and Aaron Holmes leading the way. Robinson won District Four and Sectional Two titles in the 100-, 200- and 400-Meter Dashes and Robinson is the defending State Champion at 200- and 400-Meters Holmes won district and sectional titles in the 300-Meter Hurdles. Hazelwood West will only compete in three girls events as the 4×100-Meter Relay team won Sectional Two.
HAZELWOOD CENTRAL will compete in nine girls’ events and only two boys’ events. Senior Danielle Frank won district and sectional 200-Meter dash and the district 400-Meter dash.
McCLUER NORTH – The Stars compete in six girls and five Boys events. Juniors Michelle Owens (100-Meter Hurdles) and Lauryn Taylor (100-Meter Dash) won district and sectional titles Owens is the defending state champion
CLASS FOUR — McCLUER will be in six boys’ and five girls’ events. Winning District Five and Sectional Two are junior Michael Jenkins (High Jump) and senior Kendrick Banks (400-Meter Dash).
