Fall Theater Season Announced

The Fall 2012 Florissant Civic Center Theatre schedule has been announced, the shows            and times are as follow:

Catholic Youth Apostolate presents: The Father William Scheid Players in “Bye bye Birdie”  Show times for Bye Bye Birdie will be Aug. 19- 8 p.m. Aug. 21- 3  p.m. and Aug. 20- 8:00 p.m. Admission for the show is $14 for Adults; $12 for Seniors/ Groups of 25 or more. Miss Metro St. Louis/ Miss River City Pageant Sept. 11- 3 p.m. – Miss River City, 7:30 p.m. – Miss Metro St. Louis The Miss Metro St. Louis/Miss River City Pageants are part of the Miss American Scholarship program. There will be two young ladies that will be crowned as the winners. As the winners they will then advance to the Miss Missouri Scholarship pageant to represent our community. Florissant Fine Arts Council presents: “Night & Day with Kevin Spirtas” Sept. 17- 8 p.m. Night and day features Kevin Spirtas explaining his career highlights, from his Broadway debut to his years as Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of our Lives. Admission is $27 for Adults; $25 for Seniors/Students. For phone info or reservation you may call 314-921-5678.

Alpha Players Present: “South Pacific” Sept. 30- 8 p.m. Oct. 1- 8 p.m. Oct. 7- 8 p.m. Oct. 8- 8 p.m. Oct. 9 – 2 p.m. The story is set on an exotic island during World War II, two parallel love stories are threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war. Admission is $16 for Adults, $14 for Seniors/Students, $10 for Children under 12.

Florissant Fine Arts Council Presents: “Stormy Weather: The Lena Horne Project”

Oct. 2- 7 p.m. Stormy Weather is a combination of story, song, and visual images from James Gavin’s Wealth of material and hundreds of interviews- several with Lena Horne herself.  Admission is $27 for Adults, $25 for Seniors/Students.

St. Louis Family Theatre Series Presents: “Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales”. Oct. 14- 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 – 2 p.m. Oct. 16 – 2 p.m.

Admission is $7 to all and group rates are available.

– Florissant Fine Arts Council Presents: “The official Blues Brothers Revue”

Oct. 15 – 8 p.m. This live concert show is the combination of the comedy and the hits from the original movie and pays homage to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel, and soul music.

Admission is $27 for Adutls, $25 for Seniors/Students

– Ghuggy Bear Productions Presents: “Treat or Trick” Oct. 21- 7 p.m. Oct. 22 – 3 & 7 p.m

Admission is $25 for all

Northwinds Concert Band Presents: Tuesday nights at the Pops Oct. 25 – 7:30 p.m. Northwinds concert band, under the direction of Larry Marsh will present “Tuesday Night at the Pops”. You can come celebrate Larry’s 30th year as a conductor of his fine group. The Northwinds are a program of the Ferguson-Florissant’s Community Education Department. Admission is $8 for Adults; $6 for Seniors/Students

The Civic Center  Lobby Box Office Hours are; Mon. and Fri., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,; Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Box Office will close each day from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for lunch.
