Mark Behlmann to Run For Schneider’s Old Seat on Aug. 2

Mark J. Behlmann, who finished third in the April 5th election for mayor of Florissant, has announced that he is filing for the vacancy in Ward 3 that will be on the Aug. 2nd ballot.

The Ward 3 seat was held by Tom Schneider who was elected mayor April 5th and recently took  the oath of office. Also on the ballot Aug. 2 is the run-off election between Patrick Stinnett and Steve Purgahn who tied with the same number of votes (470) in the Ward 6th race.

Behlmann, a longtime member of the Hazelwood Board of Education, said he is looking forward “to going door-to-door the next two months and talking to residents of Ward. 3.”

“I am committed to and dedicated to work for the residents of Ward 3 and with city council members to help keep Florissant the best community in St. Louis County.

Councilmen Keith English and Tim Lee, along with community leaders Don Zykan, Kim Besserrman and Vern Schmitz, will hold a Meet the Candidate fund-raiser at Mattingly’s Sports Bar, 8108 N. Lindbergh in the Garden Room,  on Thursday, May 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
