Emily Schoen-Pokemon pg 2A

Emily Schoen, age 10, from Florissant played  in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Regional Tournament in Crestwood. Her parents are Steve and Joan Schoen.

Schoen was crowned regional champion after placing third at the tournament. Pokemon TCG tournaments provide an opportunity for players to succeed at an intellectual sport and test their Pokemon TCG skills, strategy, and creativity. She plans to continue competing for a potential invitation to the 2011 Pokemon World Championships later this year.

The state championship tournaments are the third events in the Pokemon Championship Series, and premier rating points awarded there go toward a potential invitation to the world championships held in San Diego, California in August.
