Should Rams Have Taken A Wideout and Running Back in Rounds 1 & 2?

I sat in amazement and watched the Rams draft everything that they seemed not to need on last week. They really needed a receiver or should I say a couple of receivers and they get a defensive lineman and then a tight end, in the first two rounds. This brings uthe Rams  to five tight ends going into camp. They take a received in the third round.

Is this going to be the same old boring offense again this year as we have seen in the past?. Line up two tight ends this year and let Sam Bradford throw his simple five yard passes that get them nowhere.

Why not throw the ball down the field a bit. I really think the fans of St. Louis would rather see the Rams take chances of going 20 yards and over several times a game, than play it safe and take the 5-yard dump passes.

Did they get anyone to take the pressure off of Steven Jackson? The simple answer was no. This guy is in his late twenties.  but with the abuse his body has taken over the years being the feature back, his playing age is probably mid thirties. We need somebody to give him a break every once in a while.

This will be a crucial year for the team, franchise, and Bradford. They have to give him some weapons to throw to in making him a quarterback that will prosper in the future. The fans will give the team a break for a year or so.

Cam Newton May be Marked QB

Onto the 1st round of the draft, it drove me crazy to watch Cam Newton act like he was the coolest thing known to man. When I guy comes out and says he wants to be the show, things are getting kicked off on the wrong foot. There is a difference between being cocky and having confidence, one of those will get you hurt.

I think a lot of the players in the NFL took notice of his actions and are going to welcome him to the NFL in an angry way. These guys make their living in this sport and many have earned the right to have an attitude, not a guy who has not ever set foot on an NFL field.

The days of him just tucking the ball down and running when there is nobody open are over. This was a big part of Newton’s success. Let him try this in the NFL a few times— game over. We will see, I wish everyone in life success but let’s take it in stride, let’s not become a bigger star in our heads than we really are.

The other draft thing that drives me crazy with any team is when they say, we went for the best player available. What if you need offense and the best player available is defense, do you just take him. I don’t get the thinking, am I missing something? Maybe that why I just sit and write about it and the management teams in the NFL actually do it.
