Florissant Home Improvement Seminar, April 28

Florissant will hold a Home Improvement Program seminar on Thursday, April 28, at 6 p.m., at the Florissant Government Building. Homeowners will learn how to fill out an application, qualifications, and available resources.
Florissant’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) office provides no-interest loans of up to $5,000 to a limited number of low-to-moderate income Florissant homeowners who qualify. The loans can only be used for home repair and to address code violations.
Loan applications are available for pickup or on the city’s website. Completed applications will be accepted during regular business hours, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Government Building Monday, May 2, 2011 through 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Applications are reviewed by Florissant’s Community Development Office and priority is given to low-income households. If funds remain after eligible low-income applications are met, candidates from moderate-income housing will be considered. All applicants will be notified of their status within four-six weeks.
More information about the loans and who may apply is available on Florissant’s website www.florissantmo.com, by calling the Community Development Office at 314-839-7680 or  comara@florissantmo.com.
