Hazelwood City Clerk Colleen Wolf is the recipient of the prestigious Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association’s 2011 Outstanding City Clerk Award. The Hazelwood City Council recognized Wolf at a recent council meeting.
“I am so honored to receive this recognition from the Hazelwood City Council and to be chosen by the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers’ nominating committee for this distinguished award, and to have the support of all my peers throughout the state of Missouri,” said Colleen Wolf, Hazelwood City Clerk.
Hazelwood Mayor Matthew Robinson and the City Council members unanimously submitted a nomination application for Wolf that was reviewed with those from seven other nominees for this year’s Outstanding City Clerk Award. The nominating committee of the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association, (MoCCFOA), selected the individual they felt was most deserving of this award. The winner’s name was kept a secret until the announcement was made at a banquet event for MoCCFOA’s Spring Institute.
“The MoCCFOA is proud to have Colleen as part of our organization. Her dedication and involvement in our Association is priceless. We’re all so very proud of her for her achievement,” said 2010-2011 MoCCFOA president Kathie Needham.
The MoCCFOA is a professional organization of municipal clerks and finance officers who have united together to assist members in the performance of their job responsibilities and promote the professional development of its members for the betterment of the public and municipalities they serve. This organization sponsors certification programs and provides support to its members for the purpose of imparting standards of quality and integrity to the profession. It also helps to improve the methods and procedures that are required to meet the needs of the public as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Wolf has been a MoCCFOA member for 18 years. According to Wolf, “What I like most about MoCCFOA is the camaraderie between fellow clerks. We can relate to each other like no one else because we all struggle through the same issues. We lean on each other and learn from one another. As an experienced clerk, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to help mentor the newer clerks as well.”
In July 2011, Wolf will be recognized for her 15 years of service as the City Clerk for Hazelwood. Her impressive credentials include earning the highest levels of certification, Master Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and Missouri Professional City Clerk from the MoCCFOA.
Wolf is married to Hazelwood Police Chief Carl Wolf. Together, they have eight children and eight grandchildren.
