Prep Girls Soccer Has The Most
Enrollment Class Changes

As the Missouri State High School Activities Association listing high school enrollments on a year-by-year basis instead of every two years, class and district assignment changes will appear more frequently.
On the other hand this year’s enrollment of high schools, based on last year has, is making en effect on spring sports, especially in Girls Soccer as three of them in North County are moving down in class while another is moving up.
Hazelwood East is moving down from Class Four to Class Three and will compete this year in District Five along with Riverview Gardens, McCluer and defending state runner up Incarnate Word Academy, winners of 36 consecutive district titles including the last 34 in MSHSAA. Lutheran North and North Tech, which competed last year in Class Two, District Five, will be in Class One and will compete in District Three along with Collegiate School of Medicine-Bio Science, Crossroads College Prep, Northwest Academy of Law and Sumner. On the other hand, Trinity Catholic, which won four consecutive district tiles in Class One, moves up to Class Two, competing in District Five along with Jennings, McCluer South-Berkeley and Normandy.
There are no class changes for Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and McCluer North as they will be in Class Four, District Five, with Ritenour serving as hosts.
BASEBALL — Trinity Catholic moves up from Class Three to Class Four. In addition, it will be the only team outside of St. Charles County to compete in District Seven. The Titans with Archdiocesan Athletic Association rival Lutheran St. Charles County, district host St. Charles West, O’Fallon Christian, Orchard Farm and St. Charles High. Also in Class Four McCluer South-Berkeley will be in District Six.
In Class Five McCluer North will host District Five with Hazelwood Central, McCluer, Ritenour and Riverview Gardens. Meanwhile Hazelwood West is in District
Six, hosted by Parkway North with DeSmet Jesuit, Francis Howell North, Parkway North and Pattonville competing. The
District Five champion will play as host to the May 21 Sectional against the District Six Champion.
In Class Three Lutheran North will host District Six and will compete against North Tech, Bowling Green, Duchesne, Elsberry, Hermann and Montgomery County.
TRACK AND FIELD — Hazelwood East is moving down from Class Five to Class Four., Hazelwood East will be in District Five at Mary Institute and Country Day School. Among the other competitors at MICDS are Incarnate Word Academy, McCluer and Riverview Gardens.
In Class Five Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and McCluer North return to Pattonville Stadium and will compete in District Four. Also going to Pattonville are DeSmet Jesuit, Francis Howell North, Marquette (Rockwood District) Parkway West and Ritenour.
In Class Three Trinity Catholic, which was state runner up in Boys and third place finishers in Girls last year, will be in District Three at AAA rival O’Fallon Christian. Also Competing at Christian are North Tech and McCluer South-Berkeley. Meanwhile, Lutheran North hosts District Two, a 12-team event that includes Cardinal Ritter College Prep, defending State Boys Champions and Girls’ Runner Up. All Districts compete May 11.
BOYS TENNIS — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North, McCluer and Ritenour play in Class Two, District Five, where the team champion serves as Sectional Two hosts. In addition, the team that is the district hosts serves as hosts to the individual sectional. Finally, Lutheran North is in Class One, District Four.
BOYS GOLF — McCluer North will be in Class Four, District Two at Quail Creek Golf Course in St. Louis while Trinity will be in Class Two, District Five at The Falls Golf Club in O’Fallon.
LACROSSE — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West and Incarnate Word Academy compete in girls’ varsity. Postseason play is in the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association, not MSHAA.
