Mammograms are Available at Florissant Valley Library, Feb. 24

The Florissant Valley Branch of St. Louis County Library and St. Luke’s Breast Care Center will offer mammograms on Thursday, Feb. 24. The Mobile Mammography Unit will be in the library parking lot from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The mammograms will be free for those who cannot pay, but an appointment is necessary.

The American Cancer Society recommends yearly mammograms for women over the age of 40. Patients who are at increased risk for breast cancer may need more frequent mammograms.

St. Luke’s Mobile Mammography Unit provides a convenient and comfortable way for women to be screened for breast cancer. Female technologists trained specifically in mammography staff the van. A written report of the results is sent to both to the patient and the patient’s physician.

The Florissant Valley Branch library is located at 195 N. Florissant Rd., South.

To schedule an appointment, call 205-6565 or 1-888-357-3432. Please note: the mobile unit is not handicapped accessible.
