NCCU, Jamestown Mall To Host Forum On Youth at Local Malls on May 9

Due to increasing incidents among youth in local malls, schools, and communities, North County Churches Uniting for Racial Harmony and Justice (NCCU) will hold a forum at Jamestown Mall at the invitation of General Manager Tony Stephens on Wednesday, May 9,from 1-3 p.m.

This Forum will address this topic with a panel discussion by various leaders in North St. Louis County followed by a question and answer period.

“This will attempt to find a solution to this situation. According to Rance Thomas, president of North County Churches Uniting for Racial Harmony and Justice. “The problems faced by malls are endemic to problems faced by schools and communities.”

Jamestown Mall launched a Parental Escort Policy on Friday, April 27. Under the new policy, any individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, at least 21 year of age, on Friday and Saturday evenings after 5 p.m.

The new family-oriented policy is similar to those implemented at other area shopping centers and has been developed with the support of shoppers, merchants and many organizations in the North County community.

Under the new Parental Escort Policy, all customers of the Wehrenberg Cine 14 will be permitted access to the cinema. Those persons under the age of 18 who are affected by the policy will not be allowed access to any other areas of Jamestown Mall on Friday and Saturday evenings after 5 p.m.
