Police Seek Robbery Suspect Who Held Up Citizen’s Bank in Old Town

Police are looking for a mail suspect to robbed The Citizens National Bank, l 430 St. Ferdinand Street in Florissant, on Monday, May 3 of an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

A  lone male suspect entered the bank around 3:45 p.m. police reported,, displayed a handgun and demanded money.  After seizing the money, the suspect exited the bank and was observed running in a southeasterly direction towards Washington and St. Pierre.  One witness described seeing red smoke emanating from the suspect’s clothing possibly due to a die pack discharging.

The suspect is a black male, 5’06” to 5’07”, late twenties and wearing a red polo shirt. He may have entered a tan or gold Ford Taurus with Illinois registration.  A vehicle fitting that description was seen fleeing from the area near the time of the robbery.

The business is equipped with surveillance equipment and photos are available.
