Read MoreKroenke’s Latest Intervention Means It’s Still About Money
By Randy Gardner
Nothing ever goes as it seems it will. I am talking about the sale of the Rams to a businessman who really wanted the team. Now, the latest news is that 40 percent owner Stan Kroenke is making a bid for the team but is it for the right reasons?
As it is most of time, it seems to be all about money. Well, we know that everything in life is about the money, that is what is wrong with the world and today, but right now this team needs an ownership group that is in it for the right reasons—winning and being there for the fans.
The draft is upon us and that will be a defining day for this franchise. I still think you have to go quarterback but something tells me that they are going to go differently in the first round.
I like what the Rams are doing as far as public relations, the team is going to have players and cheerleaders out on draft night at different establishments with the fans.
That is cool, that is what this team needs to do more of. Get the players in front of the fans on a grass roots level. That is what will change the scope of this team in the perception of the fans eye. I don’t like to say it all comes down to one day but I really think that this Rams franchise over the next several years hinges on this draft.
Cards Hope to Keep the Injury Bug Away
The Cards are still hot; will they ever cool down? It is so fun to sit down and watch this team day in and day out win series 2 out of 3. You just expect it right now. All the way down the lineup, everyone can hit, so everyone is a danger of getting on base and then when the middle of the order comes up with men on base, the scope of the game changes.
It all comes down to keeping healthy though. I always say that it is a long season and health is the main factor to success during a season, especially in the realm of pitching. Its early but its looking good for the Cardinal Nation.
If you are a NHRA fan, the big boys and girls will be back in town next weekend at Gateway International Raceway. If you have never seen or been to these races, it is something that you should experience at least once in a lifetime.
To put it into perspective, it is like standing next to the space shuttle when it takes off. Then it is like standing next to 747 as it flies by. Bring the earplugs though, you can easily lose your hearing besides the fact that your chest will feel like it is being shaken by a jackhammer.
I know it sounds a little crazy but it is the coolest thing on earth or at least it ranks right up there with them.
