Hazelwood West adds three more wins last week by winning the Suburban North Conference Girls Soccer Tournament.
Games were played March 29, 31 and April 1. West defeated McCluer, 7-0, Hazelwood Central, 3-0, and Pattonville, 2-1 on penalty kicks. Through seven games West has allowed only two goals.
Against McCluer seven Wildcat players scored a goal each while Ashley Janish and Suzy Ryan each had two assists. In the ‘Cats second win over Central Mariah Gove, Amy Ward and Julie Webb each scored a goal while Ashley Gove added two assists. Against Pattonvile Ryan scored in the first half but Pattonville tied it 1-1 in the second on a Erin Collier goal.
PATTONVILLE got to the SNC Tournament championship game by defeating Hazelwood East, 11-0, in a game called at halftime due to 10-goal rule, and McCluer North, 4-0.
HAZELWOOD CENTRAL took third place by sandwiching wins around the loss to McCluer North. Central played only 50 minutes in a 10-0 win over Riverview Gardens and won 4-0 over McCluer North. Against Riverview eight players scored a goal each, McKenzie Scott scored two goals while Caitlyn Obrock had four assists. Against McCluer North Emily Gomez, Devan Jones and Jamie Morales scored for the Hawks.
McCLUER NORTH opened the Suburban North Conference Tournament with a 2-0 win over Ritenour. Rachel Franck and Sam Jones each scored for the Stars.
McCLUER bounced back from a loss to Hazelwood West by shutting out Riverview Gardens, 9-0. Kaandra Eddings, Desiree Ramirez and Annisa Gomez each scored twice for the Comets. McCluer lost in the consolation finals to Ritenour, 7-0.
RITENOUR, after losing to McCluer North and before winning over McCluer to take the consolation title, defeated Hazelwood East, 9-0. Against McCluer Becca Inman scored twice while Nikki Baker and Courtney Baker had two assists each. Against East Alyssa Biondo scored three times while Natalie Mayhall scored twice
HAZELWOOD EAST AND RIVERVIEW GARDENS were scoreless in two losses each.
