Don Zykan Files For State House for 74th District

Don Zykan, a life long resident of North St.Louis County, filed for Missouri State House of Representative on Feb. 23, on the Democratic ticket. If elected he will be representing the State of Missouri’s 74th District which includes the Florissant, North County area.

Zykan is one of three candidates that has filed for the House as of Feb. 26. The other two candidates, who are both Democrats, are Tony George and the present 74th District Missouri Representative, Steve Webb who is seeking reelection. (Other area candidates have filled, but The Independent News hasn’t received the information yet.)

Zykan has volunteered his time to the North St. Louis County community through various groups and organizations. They include, BJC-Christian Hospital (Board), Commerce Bank North County Chamber of Commerce and North County Inc, just to name a few. Also he is a Lifetime Member of the Florissant Valley Jaycees, and has served as a community advisory board member to the Metropolitan Sewer District.

“I want to raise the bar for elected positions and offer my life skills and organizational skills as an example for others to participate in this election process,” said Zykan. His campaign slogan is, “Raising the Bar, takes more than one set of hands.”

The General Elections that will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Primary elections will be held on Aug. 3.
