Channel 20 Is Now Gateway Television News Network, Found at 994 on Charter

GTN – The Gateway Television News Network, formerly News 20, has moved to a new channel in the Charter Communications lineup. The new location is channel 994. The change took place on Dec. 18, a month earlier than expected, which gave the channel little time to promote the move.

The station which is operated out of the City of Black Jack, has consistently been voted as one of the best and most unique cable stations in the country, earning over 50 National and International Awards. These awards include 3 Mid America Regional Emmy Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting and the Mary Phelan Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement Reporting, amongst several other prestigous broadcasting awards.

The station prides itself in giving its viewers local unique news, health, police, and sports stories, along with interviews with local, state, and national political figures. Award winning shows include GTN News, Primetime Sports, Priority one Police Show, HealthQuest Health Show, and City Limits with Norm McCourt.

Randy Gardner, news director for the station says, “I am very proud of the viewing audience we have attained over the past 15 years, we have a very dedicated audience with all of our shows. We will still bring all of St. Louis the same quality programming as we move to our new home as GTN, the Gateway Television News Network”.

The station moved to GTN, Gateway Television News Network after 10 years as News 20. Due to the fact that they will be on Channel 994 on Charter Communications and Channel 99 on At&T U-Verse, the call letter system will make it simpler to identify the station in the long run.

Gardner goes on to say “With any change, it will take some time for everyone to find us, its a challenge, but we are confident, through word of mouth we will end up being stronger than ever”.

Mayor Norm McCourt, award winning host of City Limits on GTN says, “We have created a channel that touches everyone in every community. It makes me proud when a viewer will come up to me and say that they learned something from one of my interviews, that is what it is all about.”
