St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival in Florissant
THE 4th ANNUAL FLORISSANT ST. PATRICK’S
PARADE, FESTIVAL & 5K RUN March 16
Mayor Tim Lowery announces that the Florissant Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee is hosting the 4th Annual Florissant St. Patrick’s Parade, Festival & 5K Run on Sunday, March 16.
The 5k run and walk will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Duchesne Home Association (formerly the KOC Grounds) located at 50 rue St. Francois. The route will again run through beautiful Old Town Florissant and loop around St. Patrick Lane.
The St. Patrick’s Parade will start at 1 p.m. beginning at both Bangert Park located at 275 S. New Florissant Road and Duchesne Elementary at 100 S. New Florissant Road and end at the Duchesne Home Association Grounds. This year’s Parade Marshal will be Brian McHugh, who is the Assistant Chief of Operations for the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District.
The festival will start at 1 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Duchesne Home Association Grounds (KOC). There will be live music, corned beef and cabbage dinners by the Knights of Columbus, cold beverages, food trucks, Irish dancers, a petting zoo, local vendors, and plenty of other family-friendly activities and entertainment again.
Mayor Lowery added, “I really appreciate the hard work and commitment the committee members have done in getting everything planned and organized. We are proud to partner with the Florissant St. Patrick’s Day Committee. Everyone is looking forward to another great event in our city.”
Florissant is truly a city of festivals including the Hispanic Festival, Valley of Flowers & Fall Festival, just to name a few. Building on that rich tradition, a group of Florissant Residents have been meeting regularly and in January 2021 they formed a non for profit entitled “Society for St. Patrick’s Day Parade Florissant MO”.
The goal is to have another great event where everyone in the community can gather as one and enjoy everything that Florissant has to offer! No need to encourage folks to wear Green that day!
