FLORISSANT RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN 9TH ANNUAL CONFLUENCE TRASH BASH ON MARCH 18

CONFLUENCE TRASH BASH 1Cleaning up area streams and neighborhoods is the theme of the ninth annual Confluence Trash Bash, which will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Volunteers can meet at Sunset Park, 2700 Sunset Park Drive, Florissant, MO 63031, near the lower parking lot pavilion, as well as 5 other sites around St. Louis County.

CONFLUENCE TRASH BASH 2Registration for the clean-up will be held at Sunset Park as well as five other locations, where volunteers will congregate before heading out to various sites to pick up trash and litter to diminish water pollution in the area. Breakfast will be provided at the registration locations. Prizes will be given for interesting trash finds.

The Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, Creve Coeur Park the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex, Overland Wild Acres Park, and 10950 Riverview Drive are the other five area sites that will serve as starting points for the ninth annual event.

Partners on this event include St. Louis Audubon, Greenway Network, St. Louis Brightside, St. Louis County, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Stream Team, Missouri River Relief, St. Louis Forward and Big Muddy Adventures. Participating municipalities include Maryland Heights Parks Department, cities of St. Louis, Creve Coeur, Florissant, Bridgeton, Overland, Hanley Hills and Bellefontaine Neighbors.
