Florissant Mayor Named Certified Municipal Official

The Missouri Municipal League has named Florissant Mayor Tom Schneider a Certified Municipal Official.

The League created the Certified Municipal Official program as a way to recognize and reward the commitment many municipal officials make towards improving their knowledge of local government by attending Missouri Municipal League training meetings.

Completion of the program requires participants to obtain training in core areas and electives or by attending a minimum number of Missouri Municipal League annual conferences. Mayor Schneider is one of the first recipients of the award.

Mayor Schneider, who was first elected to municipal office in 1979, has likely attended more state and county Municipal League meetings than any other active municipal official in the state, according to Dan Ross, Executive Director of the Missouri Municipal league.
