St. Louis County Executive Sam Page led a bevy of local leaders last week in officially opening the new North County Police Precinct. The station is named in honor of Officer JoAnn Liscombe, killed in the line of duty in 1991.
“This facility provides the resources our police need to serve and protect our communities,” Dr. Page said at the event, where he was joined by County Police Chief Kenneth Gregory, members of the Board of Police Commissioners, elected officials and other police department leaders.
The County Executive singled out County Council Chairwoman Shalonda Webb, D-4th District, for her commitment to the project.
“No matter our political leanings or where we live, we all agree that public safety is important to St. Louis County,” Dr. Page said. “And we have demonstrated that by investing more than $70 million in three new police facilities over the last two years.”
This $12.5 million precinct was funded by Proposition P, a public safety sales tax approved by voters in 2017. The state-of-the-art building is the largest and best equipped police precinct in St. Louis County.
