Historic Florissant’s Christmas House House Tour Features 15 Sites, Nov. 29

The Old Coldwater School, celebrating its 150th anniversary, is on this year’s Christmas in Old Florissant House Tour.

Historic Florissant, Inc. will host its annual house tour, Christmas in Old Florissant, on Sunday, Nov. 29, from 3-7 p.m. This house tour has been a yearly tradition since 1975, and marks the beginning of the holiday season.

This year marks the biggest tour ever, with 15 sites on the ticket. Many of them are clustered in Old Town Florissant, where both old and new homes will be beautifully decorated for Christmas.

The Union Church on rue St. Francois, the first protestant church in Florissant, will be on the ticket this year. It was originally shared by the Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian denominations. Herz Jesu Schule at Sacred Heart Parish is celebrating its 120th anniversary and will also be open.

Ticket holders can enjoy a complimentary taste of wine and tour the new piano bar at Hendels Market Café.

Several museums, including Taille de Noyer, St. Stanislaus, and the Old Cold Water Schoolhouse will feature special displays and holiday decorations. The Cold Water School is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

Light refreshments will be served at many of the stops on the tour. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance at the Gittemeier House, 1067 Dunn Road, or along rue St. Francois at Dooley’s, Korte’s, Village of the Blue Rose and Silver Moon Stencil Shop.
