Florissant and Gateway Disposal

Co-Host Bulk Pick Up Day July 31

Mayor Tim Lowery announced that the City of Florissant and Gateway Disposal are teaming up to provide a free bulk pick up event for Florissant residents that have been affected by the recent flash flooding. The event will take place on Sunday, July 31 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Ferdinand Park.

The following items will be accepted with no exceptions:

Couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, box springs, area rugs, head and foot boards, bed frames, dressers, chests, entertainment centers, lawn equipment with all oil and gas drained, clothes as long as they are boxed up and all glass must be taped so it does not shatter on the parking lot or workers.

Items that will not be accepted:

Car parts of any kind, batteries, tires, hazardous materials, electronics of any kind, computer monitors and printers, construction materials, rock and concrete bricks.

This event is available to city of Florissant residents only. There will be city staff on hand checking for proof of Florissant residency as you pull into the park. Future bulk pick up events have not yet been determined.

A damage reporting line for the recent flash flood in our area has been established through the United Way. Please call 2-1-1 or 1-800-427-4626 to report damage from the flash flood. Due to long wait times you may instead submit a Disaster Intake Form online at www.211helps.org

Submissions will be shared with local Emergency Management Agencies and Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COADs) who are helping provide immediate and long-term assistance.

Gathering of this information about flood damages helps local responders understand the extent of damages and develop a plan of action of how to respond.
