Florissant to Request Release of

Community Development Block Grant Funds

 

The City of Florissant will request the releases of 2021 CDBG funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Oct. 22, 2021, following a two-week period in which the public has the opportunity to comment on the slated use of the funds.

The Florissant 2021 CDBG Annual Action Plan identifies community needs and has been proposed for the following projects:

  • Home Improvement loans to eligible, low to moderate income households throughout Florissant
  • Home Improvement – Mechanical grants for the replacement of HVAC and/or Water Heaters to eligible, low to moderate income households throughout Florissant
  • Project IMPACT program assistance with wheelchair ramps and materials and supplies for homes being assisted with exterior predications by volunteers for low to moderate income eligible or disabled residents.
  • Mortgage, Rental, and Utility Assistance – This program provides mortgage, rental, and utility assistance program to serve low- to moderate-income households facing emergency or severe temporary economic hardship and is administered by CAASTLC. This program is designed to help residents stay in their homes, whether they are home owners or renters.
  • Program Administration – providing for the salary, benefits and training of the CDBG program administrators.
