Florissant’s 4th of July Brings Some Normalcy

The weather was perfect for the first big outdoor event in Florissant since last year. While the crowds were a little smaller than previous years, everyone seemed to enjoy the July 4th events on the civic center grounds. Many barbecued and brought picnic items while awaiting the concert and fireworks display .
Residents gathered in front of the Eagan Civic Center (bottom photo) to hear the Midnight Piano Band play classical piano hits from the ’70s and ’80s, from Elton John and others from the era.
The evening concluded with the annual Florissant fireworks display, always one of the best in the metro area. The last five minutes of the half-hour display were especially impressive. Photo at top of page shows shot from ground level near the civic Center parking lot (light pole).
